Important
Children's Privacy
This section is particularly important because Elevation Robotics serves K–12 students.
Our website is directed at adults — specifically parents, coaches, educators, and volunteers. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Competition and event registrations are submitted by coaches, parents, or school administrators — not by students directly.
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
For students aged 13–17, we encourage parents and coaches to review our data practices before providing any information about their students.
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we collect from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:
• Using HTTPS/SSL encryption on our website
• Limiting access to personal information to authorized personnel
• Not storing financial payment information (we do not currently accept online donations)
• Retaining personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
Colorado Privacy Act Notice
The Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) grants Colorado residents certain rights regarding their personal data. Elevation Robotics is a small nonprofit organization that likely does not meet the CPA's applicability thresholds (100,000 consumers per year, or 25,000 consumers with revenue from data sales). Nevertheless, as a matter of good practice, we honor the following rights for Colorado residents:
• Right to access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Right to correction: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• Right to deletion: You may request deletion of personal information we hold about you (subject to legal retention requirements).
• Right to opt out: We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, so opt-out mechanisms are not applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected].
Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including RobotEvents.com (operated by RECF) and other resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
